QR when you want simplicity. POS when you want hardware.

SpotPay can support very different business environments without forcing every merchant into the same setup.

QR PAYMENT

Scan. Pay. Done.

A seller receives a unique SpotPay QR code. The buyer scans it, enters or confirms the transaction and completes the payment.

01

Register

The seller registers with SpotPay and receives a unique QR code linked to their SpotPay account.

02

Show the QR

Display it digitally on a smartphone or physically on a printed card, tag or lanyard.

03

Buyer scans

The buyer uses the payment journey to scan the seller’s QR and complete the payment.

04

Payment confirmed

The seller receives confirmation through the available SpotPay confirmation method.

SPOTPAY POS

Enter. Present. Confirm.

Dedicated SpotPay hardware gives merchants a more traditional point-of-sale payment experience using SpotPro or SpotMax.

01

Choose your device

Select SpotPro or SpotMax according to your business requirements.

02

Enter the transaction

The merchant begins the payment transaction on the SpotPay device.

03

Customer pays

The customer presents a supported payment method to complete the transaction.

04

Transaction complete

The device confirms the completed payment to the merchant.

No smartphone? No problem.

A QR can work without a seller smartphone.

The original SpotPay model was specifically designed around people who may not have a smartphone.

The seller can carry a physical SpotPay QR code—for example on a printed card, tag or lanyard—and the buyer scans that QR when making the payment.

Vusi’s SpotPay experience

One ordinary moment. A simpler way to pay.

The original SpotPay presentation illustrates the payment journey through a simple everyday experience at a local fruit-and-vegetable stall.

STEP 01

Vusi finds something he wants to buy.

He approaches Mam’Dlamini’s fruit-and-vegetable stall and decides to make a purchase.

Then he realises he has no cash.

Instead of abandoning the purchase, he asks Mam’Dlamini whether there is another way to pay.

Mam’Dlamini accepts SpotPay.

She shows Vusi her SpotPay QR code, giving him a digital way to complete the transaction.

The same idea works for a tip.

Vusi can also tip a car guard using the guard’s physical SpotPay QR lanyard—even where the recipient does not have a smartphone.
